Quadra
Mixed use building including school, sports and care homes for children with mental health issues.
Focus
The design merges a school, homes and psychiatric care for children into one building complex. The placement and massing provides different degrees of privacy and views on nature. All units have direct access to the outdoor areas, which improves access to nature, avoids an institutional linked to long corridors and allows for the housing units to operate independently while the staff can easily move between units in case of an emergency. Each of the children rooms is designed to allow personalization while standardised and adaptable for future uses. The emergency entrance in the parking basement provides extra privacy for patient during their most vulnerable moments.
